What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (DURHAM CITY (SOUTH WEST)) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2013 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023

The Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 & 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended the existing restrictions as follows:-

To amend the existing 'Permit Holders Only' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone CC Chevallier Court, b. Zone GL Grape Lane c. Zone I Crossgate, Tenter Terrace, Tenter Terrace (rear) Highgate d. Zone J Crossgate Peth, Summerville, Briardene, Alexandria Crescent (rear) Back Nevilledale Terrace, Beech Crest and Brlervllle e. Zone K Redhills Lane, Lambton Street, Bridge Street Access f. Zone P Farnley Mount, Farnley Ridge, Percy Terrace and Farnley Hey Road g. Zone TB The Bowers.

To amend the existing 'Permit Holders or Pay & Display' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6om' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone A Elvet Hill Road, Potters Bank and Quarryheads Road b. Zone I Plmllco, South Street, Grove Street, Caslte Chare and Crossgate. c. Zone J Margery Lane d. Zone K Mowbray Street, Waddington Street, John Street, Flass Street and Sutton Street e. Zone L Lambton Street (Viaduct). f. Zone N The Avenue, May Street, Hawthorn Terrace, Laburnum Avenue, Lawson Terrace, Mistletoe Street, Holly Street g. Zone O Allergate, Neville Street, Mitchell Street, Atherton Street, East Atherton Street and New Street h. Zone P George Street, St Johns Road and Percy Terrace.

To amend the existing 'Limited Waiting (3 hour, no return within 4 hours) restricted bays' from Monday - Saturday 8am-6om to 'All Days 8am - 6pm a. Cross View Terrace b. Nevilles Cross Bank.

To amend the existing 'Restricted Waiting' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6om' to 'All days. 8am-6om' on: a. Cross View Terrace b. Nevilles Cross Bank.

To amend the existing 'Loading Only, restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Crossaate.

To amend the existing 'EV recharging Point (3-hour limit, no return within 4 hours), restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Cross View Terrace.

To amend the existing 'EV recharging Point (4-hour limit, no return within 4 hours), restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Cross View Terrace.

The effect of this Order also requires an amendment Order to be made to The County Council of Durham (Durham City) (On Street Parking Places - Tariffs & Permits) Order 2014.

All other restrictions locally remain the same. Full details of both orders can be examined at Durham Clayport library during normal opening hours or via the Council website. Any person wishing to object to the proposals should send their grounds of objection, in writing, to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, at County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL or by email to Legal-Highways@durham.gov.uk (ref: 3863870 SW) by no later than 21/12/2023.
