Durham, Multiple Roads, Parking & Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (DURHAM CITY (NORTH WEST)) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2012 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023
The Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1,2,4,32 & 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended the existing restrictions as follows:-
To amend the existing 'Permit Holders Only' restrictions Irom 'Monday-Saturday. Bam-Bpm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone F Wanless Terrace b. Zone FR Aykley Court and Aykley Green c. Zone G Sidgate d. Zone I Highgate e. Zone L Prince's Street f. Zone M Albert Street, Back Western Hill, Milbank Court, Obelisk Lane, Valeside and West Terrace g. Zone NE Boste Crescent, Fieldhouse Lane, Framwellgate Peth, Flassburn Road, Larches Road, North End, Old Dryburn Way, Shaw Wood Close, Springfield Park. Springfield Avenue, Springwell Road, The Crescent and The Grove h. Zone TB The Bowers.
To amend the existing 'Permit Holders or Pay & Display' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6om' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone F Providence Row b. Zone G Framwellgate Waterside, Frankland Lane and Sidegate c. Zone L Framwellgate Peth, North End and North Road.
To amend the existing 'Limited Waiting (3-hour limit' no return before 6pm). restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Larches Road b. Springfield Park c. Whitesmocks.
To amend the existing 'Limited Waiting (3-hour limit, no return before 8pm or Permit Holders, restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-8pm' to 'All days. 8am-6om' on: a. North End b. Old Dryburn Way (Zone NE Permit Holders only)
To amend the existing 'Loading Only, restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on:
a. Freeman's Place.
The effect of this Order also requires an amendment Order to be made to The County Council of Durham (Durham City) (On Street Parking Places - Tariffs & Permits) Order 2014.
All other restrictions locally remain the same. Full details of both orders can be examined at Durham Clayport library during normal opening hours or via the Council website. Any person wishing to object to the proposals should send their grounds of objection, in writing, to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, at County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL or by email to Legal-Highways® durham.gov.uk (ref: 3843872 NW) by no later than 21/12/2023.
