What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (DURHAM CITY NORTH EAST) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2015 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023

The Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 & 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended the existing restrictions as follows:-To amend the existing 'Permit Holders Only' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone AG Gilesgate and St Giles Close b. Zone B Boyd Street, High Wood View, Church Lane, Stockton Road c. Zone C Elvet Crescent - d. Zone D Leazes Place e. Zone E Douglas Villas, Hillcrest, Bakehouse Lane, Mayorswell Close, Mayorswell Field, Ravensworth Terrace and Wear View f. Zone F Ferens Close, Ferens Park, Orchard ?rive, and Wearside Drive.

To amend the existing 'Permit Holders or Pay & Display* restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' for the extent of the following permit holders only zones: a. Zone B Church Street, Stockton Road and Oswald Court-b. Zone C Court Lane, Elvet Waterside, Green Lane, New Elvet, Old Elvet, Old Elvet South c. Zone Claypath, Ellis Leazes, Gilesgate, Leazes Lane and Renny Street d. Zone F Orchard Drive and Providence Row e. Zone H Station Lane, St Hilds Lane and Pelaw Leazes Lane.

To amend the existing 'Restricted Waiting' restrictions from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Gilesgate. To amend the existing 'Loading Only, restricted bays' from 'Monday-Saturday. 8am-6pm' to 'All days. 8am-6pm' on: a. Elvet Crescent b. New Elvet.

The effect of this Order also requires an amendment Order to be made to The County Council of Durham (Durham City) (On Street Parking Places - Tariffs & Permits) Order 2014.

All other restrictions locally remain the same. Full details of both orders can be examined at Durham Clayport library during normal opening hours or via the Council website. Any person wishing to object to the proposals should send their grounds of objection, in writing, to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, at County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL or by email to Legal-Highways@durham.gov.uk (ref: 3848168 NE) by no later than 21/12/2023.
