A52 and A1 Trunk Roads - Temporary Restriction and Prohibition of Traffic to Allow Improvement Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(a) and (7)
THE A52 AND A1 TRUNK ROADS (BARROWBY, LINCOLNSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A52 and A1 Trunk Roads, in the County of Lincolnshire, to allow improvement works to take place on Barrowby Road.
The effect of the Order will be to-
(1) impose a speed limit of 40 miles per hour on the A52 between the centreline of its junction with the link road leading to and from the northbound carriageway of the A1, to the centreline of its junction with the link road leading to and from the southbound carriageway of the A1, at Barrowby; and
(2) close a length of the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A1 to the A52, at Barrowby, from its junction with the southbound carriageway of the A1 to its junction with Sheepwash Lane.
The works are expected to start on Wednesday 3rd January 2024 and continue for approximately five months. The speed limit and slip road closure will be in operation for the duration of the work. The Order will come into force on 27th December 2023.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority and ambulance purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction and closure. Vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction. Vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closure.
A diversion route via the A1/A607 junction will be signed.
