Station Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B5246 Station Road, Rufford from B5246 Meadow Lane, Mawdesley, Chorley Borough to the East side of Station Road Level Crossing.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative as per the below schedule:-
i. From 2000 hours on Saturday 2nd December 2023 until 0500 hours on Sunday 3rd December 2023
ii. From 2000 hours on Sunday 3rd December 2023 until 0500 hours on Monday 4th December 2023
or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B5246 Station Road, Rufford – B5246 Diamond Jubilee Road, Rufford – A59 Liverpool Road, Rufford – A581 Croston Road, Rufford (into Chorley Borough) – A581 Meadow Lane, Croston – A581 Westhead Road, Croston – A581 Town Road, Croston – C190 Grape Lane, Croston – C190 Syd Brook Lane, Croston – C190 Syd Brook Lane, Eccleston – C190 Syd Brook Lane, Mawdesley – C190 Blue Stone Lane, Mawdesley – C190 Hall Lane, Mawdesley – C190 New Street, Mawdesley – C190 Smithy Lane, Mawdesley – C190 Black Moor Road, Mawdesley – B5246 Meadow Lane, Mawdesley and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the rebuilding of a damaged bridge parapet to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
