What is happening?

(VIXEN CLOSE, CHATHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a to enable water supply works to be carried out supply to be installed.

Vixen Close - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the junction with Setford Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route will be available.

Emergency access will be maintained.

This Order will come into force on 2nd January, 2024, and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after 2nd January, 2024 and are programmed for completion within one ween. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

The notice(s) allege(s): Without the benefit of planning permission the material change of use of land from storage to residential use including the stationing of mobile homes with associated works on the land to form an extension of the adjacent residential mobile home park at:

NOTICE OF MAKING

(Rainham North) (Parking Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.15) Order 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 27 November 2023 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2 and 4 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9, to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions (double yellow lines), in BLOOMFIELDS, RAINHAM, both sides, from the south-eastern kerb-line of Station Road south-eastwards for 10 metres.

3. Copies of the made Order, which will come into force on 4 December 2023, and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be request by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

4. Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

PROVISION OF PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONES
OUTSIDE SCHOOLS
NOTICE OF MAKING
THE MEDWAY COUNCIL (SCHOOL STREETS)
(PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONES) (NO.1) ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 27 November 2023 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to revoke and replace traffic order No. 712, which introduced a new ‘pedestrian and cycle zone’ in the vicinity of each of the schools listed in column (1) of the Schedule to this Notice, comprising the streets or parts of streets listed in column (2) of that Schedule. The pedestrian and cycle zones will operate at the times listed in column (3) of that Schedule; less restrictive as intended.

3. All motor vehicles except permit holders will be prohibited from entering the pedestrian and cycle zones during their hours of operation. Virtual permits allowing vehicles to enter a pedestrian and cycle zone will be available to residents and those caring for residents, of premises located within or only accessible from the pedestrian and cycle zones, by application to the Council.

Local buses will be exempt from the restriction in Richmond Road. Further exemptions will apply to vehicles of those dropping off or picking up students with special educational needs or who are disabled (the details of such vehicles being registered with the school) and to emergency service vehicles, school buses and certain other service vehicles and utility vehicles (in an emergency only) and to school staff requiring access to parking facilities within school grounds.

Any vehicle that is already within the pedestrian and cycle zone prior to its commencement of operation will be permitted to leave.

4. Copies of the made Order, which will come into force on 4 December 2023, and of plans showing its effect, may be inspected at the front reception, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except for bank and public holidays) until the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

SYMONS AVENUE, CHATHAM (between White Road and Haig Avenue).

(2) pedestrian and cycle zone operating between 8.25am and 9am and between 3pm and 3.30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive: in relation to St. Peter’s Infant School, comprising of the following road: HOLCOMBE ROAD, ROCHESTER.

(3) pedestrian and cycle zone operating between 8.15am and 9am and between 2.45pm and 3.45pm on Monday to Friday inclusive: in relation to Burnt Oak Primary School, comprising of the following roads: CORNWALL ROAD, GILLINGHAM; DEVONSHIRE ROAD, GILLINGHAM; and RICHMOND ROAD, GILLINGHAM (between 1 metre north-east of the common boundary of Nos.47 and 49 Richmond Road and the common boundary of Nos. 89 and 91 Richmond Road).

The Medway Council (Rochester) (Parking Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. -) Order 202* 

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above- mentioned Orders under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to introduce Red Route controls, where the stopping of vehicles (other than as specified in paragraph 3 of this Notice) is prohibited at any time, in:

(a) The Brook, Chatham (A231), between its junction with Dock Road (A231) and its junction with Union Street; Union Street, Chatham (A2); and Best Street, Chatham; and

(b) Corporation Street, Rochester (A2), between its junction with Esplanade and its junction with Star Hill (A2); Star Hill, Rochester (A2); New Road, Rochester (A2) at its junction with Star Hill; and City Way, Rochester (A229) at its junction with Star Hill, and extending up to 20 metres on both sides of each of the side roads or vehicle entrances opening into those roads and to remove all existing ‘yellow line’ waiting and loading restrictions in those lengths of road.

3. Within the lengths referred to in paragraph 2 of this Notice, the following exemption to the stopping restrictions would be provided: loading only (20 minutes maximum stay) between 10am and 4pm and between 6pm and 6am (the red route no stopping restriction applies at all other times) in Corporation Street, Rochester (A2), south-west side, opposite Durdles House (approximately 20 metres in length); Star Hill, Rochester (A2), east side, outside Nos. 33 to 39 Star Hill (approximately 20 metres in length).

4. Copies of the proposed Orders, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders, and of plans showing their effect, may be inspected at the front reception, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except for public holidays). Alternatively, electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk on the understanding that requests may take up to 5 working days to be processed and the copies sent.

5. Any objections or other representations to the proposed Orders should be sent in writing to be considered, by email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by post to “Parking Design team” at the address specified in paragraph 4 above by 5pm on Friday, 22 December 2023 stating name, address and the grounds for objection or support.
