A1 Motorway, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Due To Maintenance Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 4(1) AND 14(1)(a) AND (c), (4) AND (7) THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 14 TO JUNCTION 17) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway in the County of Cambridgeshire and City of Peterborough to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 2 January 2024 and be completed by 20 December 2024. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure (20.00 - 08.00) on sections of:-

(i) the A1(M) between Junction 14 and Junction 17;

(ii) all slip roads leading to and from the A1(M) between those Junctions.

During the closures traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A1(M) and local roads. The duration of each closure would vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion. To obtain a copy of the A1(M) Cyclical Maintenance Programme, please contact the National Highways Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or Info@nationalhighways.co.uk. The closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order would come into force on 2 January 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
