What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that on the 29 November 2023
the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under
section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the
effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians
from the Public Rights of Way as set out in the Schedule
below and temporarily suspend a prohibition of motorised
vehicles. The Order is required to allow for works being
carried out by Northumbrian Water Ltd to install new
services in the area. The Order will come into force on the
04 December 2023. The maximum duration of the Order
will be 6 months. All pedestrians traffic will be prohibited
from the public rights of way as set out below until the
works are completed or at such times and to such extent
as may from time to time be indicated by the display of
traffic signs. During the prohibition, there will be signed
alternative route in place.

Prohibition of Pedestrians - FE/23/1 and FE/23/2 - from
the junction with B1288 Leam Lane in a southerly direction
for 625 metres. FE/24/1 - from its junction with FE/23/1 in a
south westerly direction for a distance of 401 metres.
Suspension of Prohibition of Motorised Vehicles -
FE/23/1 and FE/23/2 - from the junction with B1288 Leam
Lane in a southerly direction for a distance of 625 metres.
