What is happening?

(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into operation on 15th January 2023 for a period of 6 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Hastings Street from Dumfries Street to Elizabeth Street. Diversion route Dumfries Street, Windsor Street, Elizabeth Street. Anticipated dates and times of closure 15th January 2024 to 17th January 2024, 8am to 5pm.
Blenheim Crescent from Alexandra Avenue to Argyll Avenue. Diversion route via Alexandra Avenue, Marlborough Road, Argyll Avenue. Alternatively via Argyll Avenue, Alexandra Avenue. Anticipated dates of closure 15th January 2024 to 19th January 2024.
Malvern Road the whole length. Diversion route via Ashburnham Road, Dale Road, Dallow Road. Alternatively via Ashburnham Road, Butlin Road, Dallow Road. Anticipated dates and times of closure 16th January 2024 to 19th January 2024, 9am to 4pm.
Mangrove Road from Lamers Road to a point outside of No.14 Mangrove Road. Diversion route via Lamers Road, Littlefield Road, Mangrove Road. Anticipated dates of closure 31st January 2024 to 2nd February 2024.
The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period within the date described as above. The purpose of the Order is to allow Affinity Water essential maintenance works to be carried out. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic will be marked by signs.
