What is happening?

A325 Portsmouth Road, and the footpath from D3461 Denton Way to A325 Portsmouth Road, Frimley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: - 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A325 Portsmouth Road, Frimley that extends from the eastern side of its roundabout junction with B311 Chobham Road, to its southern junction with D3462 Bayfield Avenue. Alternative route: - A325 Portsmouth Road, A331 Blackwater Valley Road, A30 London Road and A325 Portsmouth Road. 2.
Prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in the entire length of the footpath between A325 Portsmouth Road and D3461 Denton Way. Alternative route: - The footway to A325 Portsmouth Road, D3462 Bayfield Avenue, D3461 Badgerwood Drive, D3461 High Beeches and D3461 Denton Way.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out highway improvement works to include installation of a pedestrian crossing and/or resurfacing and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 January 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For Part 1. Works are anticipated to be carried out at night between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. For Part 2. The temporary closure is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day of works. No sole access will be affected, access for will be maintained at all times for emergency services and pedestrians via the diversion route described above.
