Notice of Definitive Map Modification Order
Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 - Section 53
The Definitive Map & Statement for the Former Penwith District Area
The Cornwall Council (Addition of Bridleways at Hellangove in the Parish of
Madron) Modification Order 2023
The above order made on 21 November 2023, if confirmed as made, will modify the
definitive map & statement for the area by:
i) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of Madron from Classified Road
C338, 299 metres south-south-west of “Bosgarrack”, at Ordnance Survey Grid
Reference (OSGR) SW 4793/3379, then running in a northerly direction for 126
metres to a junction with Footpath 51 Madron, at OSGR SW 4792/3392, then
running in a north-easterly then east-north-easterly direction for 555 metres to
its junction with another Public Bridleway to be added by this Order at OSGR SW
4841/3414, then running in an east-north-easterly then south-south-easterly
then south-easterly direction for 553 metres terminating at its junction with
Classified Road B3311, 233 metres east-south-east of “Clutch Centre Castle An
Dinas Quarry”, at OSGR SW 4880/3384.
ii) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of Madron from another Public
Bridleway to be added by this Order, 348 metres east-north-east of “Bosgarrack”
at OSGR SW 4841/3414, then running in a north-north-westerly then northerly
then north-north-westerly then east-north-easterly direction for 231 metres
terminating at its junction with Bridleway 62 Madron, 381 meters north-east of
“Bosgarrack”, at OSGR SW 4835/3431.

telephoning 0300 1234 202. A copy of the Order & Map has been placed & may
be seen free of charge at Penzance Library & Information Service, St John’s Hall,
Alverton Street, Penzance, TR18 2QW from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from
10am to 1pm on Saturday (Bank Holidays excepted), where a copy can be purchased
for the price of £5. A copy may also be viewed at the Offices of Cornwall Council at
New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to
Friday (Bank Holidays excepted).
Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the
Senior Natural Environment Records Officer, Cornwall Council Regulatory Services,
PO Box 676, Threemilestone, Truro TR1 9EQ (quoting Reference WCA 566) not later
than 18 January 2024 stating the grounds on which they are made.
If no representations of objections are duly made to the order, (or to any part of it), or
if any so made are withdrawn, the Cornwall Council, instead of submitting the order
to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of
State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife & Countryside Act
1981) may itself confirm the order (or that part of the order). If the order is submitted
to the Secretary of State (in whole or in part) any representations or objections which
have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
