What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY AREA

HATCH LANE, CHARTHAM, CT4 7LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hatch Lane, Chartham, from 23.45 hours on 6th December 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 7th December 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic:-

For vehicles under 3.6m (12’ 0”) is via Hatch Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Howfield Lane, Town Lane and vice versa.

The alternative route for vehicles over 3.6m (12’ 0”) is:-

Northbound - Hatch Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Thanington Road, Wincheap, A290 Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, A2050 Rheims Way, Harbledown Bypass, A2 Dover Road, Denstead Lane, Gravel Hill, Town Lane and Hatch Lane.

Southbound - Hatch Lane, Town Lane, Gravel Hill, Denstead Lane, A2 Boughton Bypass, Dunkirk Slip Westbound Off, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Dover Road, Harbledown Slip Eastbound Off, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, A290 Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap, Thanington Road, Ashford Road, Hatch Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HIGH STREET, LITTLEBOURNE. CT3 1ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow manhole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Littlebourne, from 23.00 hours on 19th December 2023, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 20th December 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with The Maltings, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic:-

Eastbound is via A257 The Hill, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 Littlebourne Road, A257 St Martin’s Hill, A257 Longport, A257 Lower Chantry Lane, A2050 New Dover Road, A2050 Dover Road, A2 Dover Road Slip East On, A2 Dover Road, A2 Barham Slip Eastbound Off, B2046 Box Iron Road, B2046 Adisham Road, B2046 High Street, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 Wingham Road and A257 High Street.

Westbound traffic is via A257 High Street, A257 Wingham Road, A257 Canterbury Road, B2046 High Street, B2046 Adisham Road, B2046 Box Iron Road, A260 Old Dover Road, A2 Dover Road, A2 Dover Road Slip West Off, A2050 Dover Road, A2050 New Dover Road, A257 Lower Chantry Lane, A257 Longport, A257 St Martins Hill, A257 Littlebourne Road, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 The Hill and A257 High Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

PETT BOTTOM ROAD, BRIDGE. CT4 5PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pett Bottom Road, Bridge, from 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 6th December 2023, between the hours of 09.00 and 23.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sunnyside Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tapleys Hill, Hardres Court Road, Faussett Hill, Bridge Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

SHALLOAK ROAD, BROAD OAK, CT2 0PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shalloak Road, Broad Oak, from 23.00 hours on 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 5th December 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Shalloak Road, Sweetchgate, A291 Herne Bay Road, A291 Sturry Hill, A28 Mill Road, A28 Sturry Road, Vauxhall Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

SNOWDOWN ROAD, WOMENSWOLD, CT4 6HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Snowdown Road, Womenswold, on or after 4th December 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Snaffles, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Snowdown Road, Sandwich Road, Aylesham Road, Spinney Lane, Adisham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

THE STREET, ADISHAM. CT3 3LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Adisham, on or after 21st December 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Church Lane and Woodlands Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Street, Woodlands Road, Woodlands Lane, Poor Start Lane, Bramling Road, Adisham Downs Road, Pond Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

TOWN ROAD, PETHAM. CT4 5QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Town Road, Petham, on or after 7th December 2023, with estimated completion by 9th December 2023, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Vicarage Hill to the junction of Watery Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Vicarage Hill, Garlinge Green Road, Kenfield Road, Chartham Downs Road, Faussett Hill, Stone Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

WALTHAM ROAD & BROADWAY, PETHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Waltham Road & Broadway, Petham, on or after 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 6th December 2023, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed in their entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Street, Town Road, Stone Street, Thorn Lane, Dean Hill, Dean Bottom, Main Street, The Street (Hastingleigh), Waltham Road, Ashenfield Road, Woods Hill, Richdore Road, Kake Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
