Wolsingham, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Sewer Repair Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (PROW Footpath 28, Wolsingham) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
The Council on 17/11/23 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 22 metre length of PROW Footpath 28, Wolsingham from junction with A689 Durham Road at southern side of closure, in a northerly direction to the side of No.1 Durham Road to enable sewer repair works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to pedestrian traffic from south side of closure in an easterly direction on A689 Durham Road, then north on PROW Footpath 27, then west on PROW Footpath 28 to northern end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on 27/11/23 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
