What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (U6629 Moat Lane, Westfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Moat Lane – from the junction with A21 Kent Street to the junction with U6955 Bluemans Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6955 Bluemans Lane – A21 Kent Street and vice versa.
The Order commenced 22 August 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U6631 Beales Lane, Northiam)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow Gigaclear to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,
which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Beales Lane – from the junction with A28 Station Road to the junction with U6939 Church Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with a safe route for through traffic via U6939 Church Lane – A28 Main Street, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 27 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 November 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3186 Castle Hill Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,
which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Castle Hill Road – from the junction with U3197 Castledown Avenue to the junction with U3191 Millward Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with a safe route for through traffic via U3191 Millward Avenue – U3197 Wellington Road, Castledown Avenue.
The Order commences 27 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 November 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Cantelupe Road – from the junction with U6572 Middlesex Road to the junction with U6572 Bolebrook Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6572 Middlesex Road – U6736 De La Warr Parade – U6572 Bolebrook Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 27 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 November and 31 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2165 Northiam Road, Staplecross)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Northiam Road – from the junction with B2165 Horns Cross to the junction with U6950 Watts Palace Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with a safe route for through traffic via B2165 Horns Cross – A28 Northiam Road – B2089 Chitcombe Road, Tank Hill, Whorne Woods, Catts Green – B2165 Cripps Corner Road, Northiam Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 30 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U3061 Stonehouse Drive, U3065 Theaklen Drive,
U3065 Drury Lane & B2159 Battle Road, St Leonards)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Battle Road – from its junction with U3065 Menzies Road to its junction with U3066 Windsor Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2159 Battle Road – A2100 Beauport Park roundabout, The Ridge West, Junction Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North and vice versa.
The Order commenced 3 January 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 November and 8 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6415 Horseshoe Lane, Beckley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow Gigaclear to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Horseshoe Lane – from the junction with C417 Kings Bank Lane to the junction with B2088 Main Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2088 Main Street – C417 Kings Bank Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 11 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 15 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Watermill Lane – from the junction with C307 Crowhurst Road to the junction with C307 Church Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C307 Church Road, Crowhurst Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 12 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 15 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hollington Old Lane – from the junction with B2159 Battle Road to the junction with U3061 Stonehouse Drive.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3062 Hollington Old Lane – U3045 Blackmans Avenue – B2159 Battle Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 12 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 15 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2095 Top Road/Hooe Road, Hooe/Lower Street, Ninfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Top Road/Hooe Road/Lower Street – from the junction with A269 Bexhill Road to the junction with A259 Marsh Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2095 Top Road – A259 Marsh Road, Pevensey Haven roundabout – C17 Wartling Road, Wartling Hill, Wartling Road – A271 The Strait, Boreham Hill – A269 Standard Hill, High Street, The Green – B2095 Lower Street, Hooe Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 14 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 and 15 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Road – from the junction with U6623 Hoath Hill to the junction with U6413 Mountfield Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6413 Mountfield Lane, Kent Lane – C281 Hollingrove Hill – C18 Brightling Road – C933 Bishops Lane, Heathfield Gardens – C18 George Hill – A21 Robertsbridge bypass, Johns Cross Road – A2100 London Road – U6413 New Cut and vice versa.
The Order commences 8 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 11 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C20 Village Street, Ewhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Village Street – from the junction with C620 Dagg Lane to the junction with U6621 Soggs Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C20 Village Street, Ewhurst Lane, Thyssel Lane – A28 Main Street, Hastings Road, Perryman Cross, Well House Hill, Horns Cross – B2165 Horns Cross, Northiam Road – C19 Bodiam Road, Rock Hill – C20 Shoreham Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 11 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 14 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.
