What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW

SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS OF THE BROADWAY,

STANMORE FOR STANMORE FESTIVE LIGHTS

THE COUNCIL OF LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they propose to make an order under the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which shall temporarily introduce a road closure in The Broadway, Stanmore to allow an annual event known as the Stanmore Festive Lights switch on to take place.

The general effect of the order shall be to:-

1. Introduce the following temporary closure between 10:00hrs and 21:00hrs on 28th November 2023.

2. Vehicles shall be prohibited from entering or exiting the service road;

(I) fronting Nos. 12 Buckingham Parade, The Broadway, Stanmore and 30/30A/30B The Broadway, Stanmore;

(II) fronting Nos. 32 The Broadway, Stanmore and 50 The Broadway, Stanmore;

(III) fronting Nos. 52 The Broadway, Stanmore and 78 The Broadway, Stanmore.

3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load, at any time on the service road fronting Nos. 12 Buckingham Parade, The Broadway, Stanmore to 78 The Broadway, Stanmore.

4. The provisions listed in paragraph 2 & 3 shall not apply to:-

(a) any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;

(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;

(d) any vehicles that are being used in connection with the operation of the Stanmore Festive Lights event.

5. Diversion route; via The Broadway, Stanmore, left into the rear access road leading to Dennis Lane and left into The Broadway, Stanmore and vice versa.
