Christchurch, Temporary Road Closures due to Fibre Installation Works
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below to control traffic.
WHERE & WHAT:
- Elm Avenue, Christchurch - road closed to all vehicles at its junction with The Grove to outside No. 1
DIVERSION: remainder of Elm Avenue, Canberra Road and Jumpers Avenue
- Stour Way, Christchurch - road closed to all vehicles at its junction with The Grove to outside No. 3
DIVERSION: remainder of Stour Way, Hum Way, River Way and Oak Avenue
- Stour Way, Christchurch - road closed to all vehicles at both junctions with Hurn Way
DIVERSION (west junction): remainder of Stour Way, River Way, Oak Avenue
DIVERSION (east junction): remainder of Stour Way onto The Grove
- Cross Way, Christchurch - road closed to all vehicles at its junction with The Grove to outside No.3
DIVERSION: remainder of Cross Way, Hum Way, River Way and Oak Avenue
Please note that some of the road closures and diversion routes will not be in place at the same time. Residents will be informed by letter with details of the phased/rolling road closures by CityFibre.
WHEN: Anticipated dates from Monday 4 December up to and including Friday 22 December 2023 (to include removal of all Traffic Management)
WHY: For safety whilst installation of fibre duct cabling is undertaken by CCN/CityFibre in conjunction with two-way temporary signals on The Grove and on Hum Way (phased).
ACCESS: Full Emergency Service access will be maintained. Access for residents only depending on site safety

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
The Council regrets any inconvenience caused by this Traffic Order.
