What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order: ORDER NO. MCC136516290: The City of Manchester (Jersey Street and Poland Street, Ancoats & Beswick Ward (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic)No Time Limit Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on 1. Jersey Street from Poland Street to Mozart Close and 2. Poland Street from Jersey Street to Naval Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: 1. Jersey Street, Rodney Street, Butler Street, Oldham Road, Radium Street and vice versa 2. George Street, Radium Street. The City Council is satisfi ed that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate development works.
It is expected that the works will be in progress from 9th December 2023 to 31st March 2026. The order shall come into operation on 9th December 2023 until such time that it is revoked.
