What is happening?

ORDER 2023
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 on 22nd November 2023, the Highway Authority
being satisfied that access to the said road should be
prohibited for the purpose of maintaining public safety
during the event.
The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 22nd
November 2023, is to temporarily close the lengths of road
specified in Schedule 1 below at such times as signs may
be erected to notify users of the closure, and to implement
temporary clearways on the lengths of road specified in
Schedule 2. It is expected that the closures and clearways
will be required between approximately 5am - 11:59pm
on the 23rd November 2023 and 5am - 11.59pm on the
3rd December 2023. The Order may continue in force
for a maximum period of eighteen months. Access for
emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained.
Schedule 1 - Temporary Road Closures
High Street, Stockton - From its junction with Church
Road to the northern extent of the southern bus turning
loop, a distance of approximately 430 metres, including
parking area to the south of The Shambles.
Knowles Street, Stockton - Full length
High Street, Stockton (Northbound) - Between its
junctions with Church Road and Norton Road/Bishopton
Lane.
Church Road, Stockton (Westbound) - Between its
junctions with The Square (West) and High Street
Schedule 2 - Temporary Clearways
High Street East Side Service Road, Stockton (West
side) - From a point approximately 24 metres south of
its junction with High Street in a southerly direction for a
distance of approximately 28 metres.
High Street East Side Service Road, Stockton (East
side) - From a point approximately 37 metres south of
its junction with High Street in a southerly direction for a
distance of approximately 23 metres.
High Street, Stockton (West side of west carriageway)
- From a point approximately 35 metres north of its junction
with Yarm Lane in a northerly direction for approximately 55
metres (except buses).
Knowles Street, Stockton (West side) - From a
point approximately 21 metres north of its junction with
Bishop Street in a northerly direction for a distance of
approximately 13 metres.
