What is happening?

THE LEICESTER (40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) (HINCKLEY ROAD) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leicester City Council has made an Order under Sections 84(1) and 84(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of this Order is to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour along the length of road as set out below:
Hinckley Road From the boundary between the City of Leicester and the Parish of Braunstone to a point 110m west of its junction with Cort Crescent.
No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order may be seen by calling 0116 454 1001 or 0116 454 4866 and requesting paper copies to be sent out via post.
This order will come into force on Monday 27th November 2023.
