THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(SEWERBY ROAD LEVEL CROSSING,
BRIDLINGTON AND PART OF SEWERBY ROAD, BRIDLINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed over Sewerby Road
Level Crossing, Bridlington or along Sewerby Road,
Bridlington for a distance of approximately 20 metres
either side of the level crossing.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
“annual level crossing testing” works, to be carried out
and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed
between 23.00 hours on 26 November 2023 and
06.00 hours on 27 November 2023.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via the remainder of Sewerby Road, Church Lane,
Marton Gate and Sewerby Heads.
The crossing and road will be open at all times to
pedestrians and emergency services.
The Order will commence 26 November 2023 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
