Essex - Multiple Road Closures

What is happening?

(Bunny Walk Footpath/Cycle Path, Chelmsford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County
Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as
amended), has been continued in force with the consent of the
Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 01 June 2024.
Effect of the order: Essex County Council intends to temporarily
close a length of Shared Footpath/Cycle Path parallel to the River
Chelmer, from the signalised pedestrian crossing on Victoria Road
for a distance of approximately 523 metres to its junction with Hill
View Road, Chelmsford, in the City of Chelmsford, in three phases.
Phase Description
Phase 1 From the signalised pedestrian crossing on Victoria Road
northwards for a distance of approximately 123 metres.
Phase 2 From its junction with Footpath 66, Chelmsford,
northwards for a distance of approximately 240 metres
to its junction with Footpath 65, Chelmsford.
Phase 3 From its junction with Footpath 65, Chelmsford,
north-westwards for a distance of approximately
160 metres to its junction with Hill View Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 01 December 2023 or
where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The
closure is required for the safety of the public while maintenance
improvements are undertaken to the existing shared Footpath/
Cycle Path, which will be done in three separate phases.
Diversion routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be via Victoria Road,
Footpath 66, Chelmsford (Cyclists will be required to dismount
on the footpath), Bunny Walk (Dependant on Phase) Brook Street,
New Street and vice versa.
(The Ridge, Little Baddow)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not
less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above
Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Ridge,
Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from Riffhams Chase for
a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction. The closure
is scheduled to commence on 21st December 2023 for 2 days,
or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA006WBHW674G –
Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works
with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce
while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via The Ridge, Spring Elms Lane,
Little Baddow Road, Church Hill, Oak Farm Road, Old London Road,
London Road, Maldon Road, Runsell Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 30th November 2023 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hullbridge Road, South Woodham Ferrers)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made
the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hullbridge
Road, South Woodham Ferrers in the City of Chelmsford, from a point
approximately 50m north west of its junction with Champions Way
for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2023
for 1 night (23:30-07:30), or where stated on a valid permit
(KL701WIS-34-10-091223 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required
for the safety of the public and workforce while inspection works
are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Hullbridge Road, Albert Road,
Ferrers Road, Fen Roundabout, Burnham Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 16th November 2023 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.
(Marigold Lane, Stock)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made
the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Marigold
Lane, Stock in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately
60m south west of its junction with Madles Lane for a distance
of approximately 115m in a south westerly direction. The closure
is scheduled to commence on 4th December 2023 for 3 days, or
where stated on a valid permit (EN014M88106 – Essex And Suffolk
Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate
signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while boundary
box renewal works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Marigold Lane, Well Lane,
Mill Road, Whites Hill, Madles Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 16th November 2023 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.
