On A Length Of The A3100 Old Portsmouth Road At Peasmarsh
1. ON THURSDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2023 SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL (“THE
COUNTY COUNCIL”) MADE The Surrey County Council Old Portsmouth Road
(A3100) Peasmarsh Guildford (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limits) (Part
Revocation and Amendment) Order 2023 under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of
and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984
Act”) (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the purpose and effect of
which will be to revoke the existing maximum speed limit of 40 mph on that
length of the A3100 Old Portsmouth Road at Peasmarsh which extends from
the prolongation of the southern boundary of the land previously occupied by
“Treetops Kennels” (now under re-development) (at a point 490 metres south
of its junction with Ferry Lane) southwards and then south-westwards to a
point 118 metres south-west of the south-western highway boundary of Public
Footpath No. 268 Artington (also known locally as “River Wey”), a distance of
approximately 180 metres, imposed by The Surrey County Council Various Roads
in the Parishes of Artington Shalford and Pirbright (Speed Restriction) Order
1998 (“the Order of 1998”) – (NOTE – A 30 mph maximum speed limit will
come into force upon the revocation of the existing 40 mph maximum speed
limit on the length of road referred to above by virtue of the street lighting
system currently provided on that length of road).
2. A copy of the Speed Limit Order, which will come into operation on Monday
20 May 2024, together with two Plans showing the length of road to which that
Order relates, a Statement of the County Council’s reasons for making the
Speed Limit Order and the Order of 1998 (and the Orders which have previously
amended that Order) (and the plans which accompany certain of those sealed
Speed Limit Orders) may be inspected, free of charge, for a period of six weeks
from Friday 24 November 2023 –
(i) at the Main Reception at Guildford Borough Council’s Offices situated at
Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB during normal office
hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; or
(ii) at Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 4AL on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., on Tuesdays and
Thursdays between 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9.30 a.m.
and 5 p.m.; or
(iii) by prior arrangement by telephoning or emailing the County Council’s
Merrow Complex situated at Merrow Lane, Merrow, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ

9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays inclusive
and 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Fridays.
