NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A588 LANCASTER AND WYRE) (REVOCATION, 30MPH, 40MPH AND 50MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 15 November 2023 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) "The City Council of Lancaster (Restricted Roads) (No. 1) Order 1976" in full.
b) The "Lancashire County Council (A588 Stalmine, Wyre Borough Revocation And 30 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2006" in full.
c) The "Lancashire County Council (Lancaster Road, Marsh Lane, Lancaster City) (Revocation and Introduction of 30mph and 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2015" insofar as it relates to;
i. Items 1) and 2) of Schedule 2.
ii. Schedule 3.
d) The "Lancashire County Council (Various Roads, Chorley, Fylde, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale, South Ribble, West Lancashire And Wyre Boroughs) (Revocation, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph And De-Restricted Road (August No1) Speed Limits) Order 2018" insofar as it relates to Item c) of Schedule 4.
e) The "Lancashire County Council (Cabus Nook Lane, Garstang Road, Gubberford Lane, Head Dyke Lane, Kirkham Road, Lancaster Road, Lytham Road, Moss Side Lane, Saltcotes Road, Station Lane, St Michael's Road, Various Locations, Wyre and Fylde Boroughs) (Revocation and Introduction of Restricted Road Status, 20mph, 30mph and 40mph Speed Limits) Order 2017", insofar as it relates to;
i. Item c) of Schedule 3.
ii. Item c) of Schedule 2.
2. Introduce a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Cemetery Lane, Preesall, from its junction with Park Lane/Hall Gate Lane/Burned House Lane for a distance of 100 metres in a westerly direction;
b) Hallgate Lane, Preesall, from a point 47 metres north west of its junction with the Centreline of Moss House Lane to its junction with Burned House Lane;
c) Burned House Lane, Preesall, from its junction with the Centreline of Hallgate Lane, Preesall, for a distance of 229 metres in and easterly direction.
3. Introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Hallgate Lane, Stalmine-With-Staynall, from a point 50 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Foxfields to its junction with Hallgate Lane, Preesall;
b) Hallgate Lane, Preesall, from its junction with Hallgate Lane, Stalmine-with-Staynall to a point 47 metres north-west of its junction with the Centreline of Moss House Lane;
c) Lancaster Road, Cockerham, from a point 72 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Rectory Gardens, (x7232) Cockerham, to a point 605 metres north of its junction with the Centreline of Rectory Gardens.
4. Introduce a 50mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Carr Lane, Hambleton, from a point 280 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Carr Road to the southerly junction of Sower Carr Lane;
b) Carr Lane, Stalmine-With-Staynall, from the southerly junction of Sower Carr Lane to a point 193 metres north of its junction with Neds Lane (U21399);
c) Lancaster Road, Pilling, from a point 250 metres north of its junction with the Centreline of Taylors Lane, Pilling to its junction with Sandside, Cockerham;
d) Sandside, Cockerham, from its junction with Lancaster Road, Pilling to its junction with Marsh Lane, Cockerham;
e) Marsh Lane, Cockerham, from its junction with Sandside, Cockerham to a point 158 metres south west of its junction with the Centreline of Main Street, Cockerham;
f) Lancaster Road , Cockerham from a point 605 metres north of its junction with the Centreline of Rectory Gardens, Cockerham to its Junction with Main Road Thurnham;
g) Main Road, Thurnham, from its junction with Lancaster Road Cockerham to its junction with Lancaster Road, Conder Green;
h) Lancaster Road, Conder Green, from its junction with Main Road, Thurnham to its junction with Ashton Road, Ashton-with-Stodday;
i) Ashton Road, Ashton-with-Stodday, from its junction with Lancaster Road, Conder Green to its junction with Ashton Road, Lancaster;
j) Ashton Road, Lancaster, from its junction with Ashton Road, Ashton-with-Stodday to its junction with Pinewood Close (U11872).

This Order will come into force on the 27 November 2023. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Wyre Borough Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU, and at the offices of Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PJ, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/roads/roadworks-and-traffic-regulation-orders/permanent.aspx, quoting ref: LSG4/894. 14283/AFR.
