Manchester Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO. 25) ORDER 2023
MANCHESTER ROAD, LINTHWAITE, HUDDERSFIELD
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above
Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the
effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Huddersfield area
of the Kirklees district, will be to:
(i) Prohibit the waiting at any time on the following lengths
of road:-
1. Manchester Road, Linthwaite, Huddersfield
a) South-east Side from its junction with Unnamed
Access Road (opposite Coldwell Street), Linthwaite to
its junction with Hoyle House Fold
b) South-east Side from its junction with Hoyle House
Fold for a distance of 46 metres in a south-westerly
direction
c) South-east Side from its junction with Hoyle Ing for a
distance of 45 metres in a north-easterly direction
d) South-east Side from its junction with Hoyle Ing
to its junction with the Unnamed Access Road
(opposite Coldwell Street), Linthwaite
AND
(ii) Revoke items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation)
(Colne Valley and Denby Dale Areas) (Consolidation)
Order 2017, which will be redundant when certain parts of
the restrictions referred to above are introduced.
REASON: This order is proposed to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any
Time’ restrictions at the entrance to a new housing development.
The existing access for the demolished mill site has now moved
as part of the redevelopment so the “no waiting at any time”
restrictions need to be extended to help maintain visibility when
exiting the new development.
It is intended that these proposals will improve road safety once the
development is completed.
A copy of this draft Order, together with the plan showing the
affected lengths of road and a detailed statement of reasons for
proposing the Order may be inspected at:-
