What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WESLEY STREET & VARIOUS ROADS, BAMBER BRIDGE,
SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over those lengths of road in Bamber Bridge, South Ribble Borough, specified in the second column of article 1, of the Schedule to this Order;
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The Order will be in force daily from 0800 hours to 1800 hours on Monday 4th December 2023 to Friday 8th December 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be locally signed. 
5. Pedestrian access to premises on or adjacent to the road will not be prohibited by any provision of this order. 
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow surface patching works to be carried out by LCC Highways.

The following lengths of road in Bamber Bridge, South Ribble Borough, will be closed daily between the hours of 0800 and 1800 hours from 4th December 2023
until 8th December 2023 to secure a safe working environment for surface patching works. – Access is to be maintained for residents wherever and whenever possible.
