What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Station Road, Hoghton, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Station Road, Hoghton from 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative overnight from 1100 hours on Saturday 2nd December 2023 until 0900 hours on Sunday 3rd December 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:

Station Road – Blackburn Old Road – Vice Versa

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow vegetation removal works to be carried out on the level crossing by Network Rail.
