NOTICE 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea in pursuance of
its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has made an Order.
In order for Wales and West Utilities to undertake works to renew a metallic gas main, it will be
necessary to temporarily close the above road in a westbound direction to vehicular traffic and
also introduce a temporary loading prohibition and junction priority change.
SCHEDULE
SCHEDULE 1 - TEMPORARY ONE-WAY (WESTBOUND) ROAD CLOSURE
A4118 GOWER ROAD, SKETTY
A4118 Gower Road in a north-westerly direction from its junction with A4216 Vivian Road/Dillwyn
Road (Sketty Cross) to its junction with Sketty Park Road, a distance of approximately 270 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via A4216 Dillwyn Road and Sketty Park Road,
a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.
SCHEDULE 2 - TEMPORARY LOADING PROHIBITION
A4118 GOWER ROAD, SKETTY
A4118 Gower Road from property number 17 in a north-westerly direction to its junction with
A4216 Vivian Road/Dillwyn Road (Sketty Cross), a distance of approximately 110 metres.
SCHEDULE 3 - GIVE WAY TO TEMPORARY VEHICLE STOP
JUNCTION SKETTY PARK ROAD & A4118 GOWER ROAD, SKETTY
To ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing on A4118 Gower Road west of its junction with
Sketty Park Road it will be deemed necessary to introduce a vehicle stop/sign at the junction
of Sketty Park Road and A4118 Gower Road.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians to be maintained at all times.
The maximum duration of the order is 18 months and it is anticipated the work will take 5 weeks
to complete effective from Monday 20th November 2023.
