What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Melbourne Place) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.303) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 24th November 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING
MELBOURNE PLACE

From its junction with Middle Street to 20 metres west of its junction with Earlsdon Street.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate maintenance works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
For one day on 24th November 2023.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Middle Street - Sackville Street - Astley Street - Meriden Road - Wiltshire Street - Melbourne Place and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
