Ranby, Barnby Moor and Torworth - Temporary Traffic Prohibition

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DIGGLES LODGE LANE, OLD BLYTH ROAD AND TINKER LANE, RANBY,
BARNBY MOOR AND TORWORTH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023 (BS23-262)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Ranby, Barnby Moor and Torworth in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Diggles Lodge Lane – from its junction with A1 Blyth Road to its junction with Old London Road.
b. Old Blyth Road – from its junction with A1 in an easterly direction for a distance of 35 metres.
2. No persons shall proceed on foot or pedal cycle in the following length of road to which the public has access (“footpath”)
Tinker Lane – from its junction with A1 Blyth Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 450 metres.
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 20:00 hours on Monday 4th December 2023
Until 06:00 hours on Thursday 16th December 2023

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Old Blyth Road – Straight Mile – A620 – B6420 Mansfield Road – A1 and vice versa.

Diggles Lodge Lane – Old London Road – A638 Great North Road – A620 Hospital Road – A620 Babworth Road – B6420 Mansfield Road – A1 and vice versa.

Tinker Lane – A634 Retford Road – A638 Great North Road – A620 Hospital Road – A620 Babworth Road – B6420 Mansfield Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on 4th December 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable National Highways to carry out signings works on the A1.
