What is happening?

U9503 BOWES STREET BACK LANE BLYTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U9503 Bowes Street Back Lane Blyth for its entire length of 80 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 20th November 2023 until the 1st December 2023.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 20th November 2023 until the 24th November 2023 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 1st December 2023.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.
The temporary order will hereby further suspend the one-way system namely the
U9503 Bowes Street Back Lane Blyth at its northern junction with Regent Street in a south-westerly direction from the Order Blyth Town Centre One Way, Prohibition of Entry, Left Turn & Right Turn Restrictions Order 2023 (TROM_222) dated 25th April 2023. The suspension of the one-way restriction will be in place from the 20th November to the 24th November 2023 at all times.

The road closure and suspension of the one-way restriction has been requested by Northumbrian Water Ltd to excavate to renew and install a boundary box in the carriageway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
