Accrington Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

ACCRINGTON ROAD, HAPTON, BURNLEY BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Accrington Road, Hapton from approximately 50 metres either side of its junction with Frontier Way.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative for nightly working from 2000 hours until 0600 hours on Monday 27th November 2023 until Wednesday 6th December 2023 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Motorway traffic to use;
Burnley Road – Accrington Bypass – M65 – Accrington Road and vice versa.
Non-motorway traffic to use;
Burnley Road – Accrington Bypass – Higher Shuttleworth – Blackburn Road – Church Street – Burnley Road – Kiddrow Lane – Liverpool Road – Accrington Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow resurfacing and lining works to be carried out.
