Halfpenny Lane (D218) Chilworth
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Halfpenny Lane (D218) Chilworth and; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2022” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Blacksmith Lane, (A248) Dorking Road, (A248) Chilworth Road, Guildford Lane, and White Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 14 days between 8am and 6pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Green Lane (D248) Ockham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Green Lane (D248) Ockham as extends from its junction with (B2039) Ockham Road North to its junction with (X248) Green Lane. Alternative Routes – Vehicles: Ockham Road North; East Lane; Long Reach; and Green Lane; Pedestrians: Public Bridleway No.29 Ockham; Long Reach; and Green Lane. The Order is required to allow Section 278 development and construction works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Antler Homes within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 12 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 04 December 2023. Access for residents and the emergency services to properties within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times. All other traffic including pedestrians and cyclists will be required to use the signed diversion routes.
Litchfield Way (D4017) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Litchfield Way (D4017) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4017) Bannisters Road eastwards for a distance of approximately 60 metres. Alternative Route – Litchfield Way; Wilderness Road; The Crossway; and Litchfield Way. The Order is required to allow telecoms utility and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 2 days between the hours of 09.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Woodhill (D234) Send
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Woodhill (D234) Send as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Send Barns Stables” South-westwards for a distance of approximately 37 metres. Alternative Route – A247 Send Barns Lane; London Road; and Woodhill. The Order is required to allow new water connection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Affinity Water within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 06 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other vehicular traffic including the emergency services should use the signed diversion route.
Gadbridge Lane (D276) Ewhurst
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Gadbridge Lane (D276) Ewhurst which extends from its junction with Cranleigh Road to its junction with Access to the Paddocks and any parts thereof. This Order is required to enable UKPN to carry out connection works and/or electrical works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – The Green and Cranleigh Road or vice versa.
Boxgrove Avenue (D4012) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Boxgrove Avenue (D4012) Guildford which extend from the property boundary line between Nos. 26 and 28 to the property boundary line between Nos. 32 and 34. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to carry out connection works and/or water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 9am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – Boxgrove Avenue, London Road A3100, Boxgrove Road A25 and Boxgrove Avenue.
D4007 Austen Road and D4017 Litchfield Way, Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of:- a) D4007 Austen Road, Guildford. Alternative route:- Sydney Road and A246 Epsom Road. b) D4017 Litchfield Way, Guildford. Alternative route:- D4017 Wilderness Road and D4017 The Crossways. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and/or improvement and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, within 2 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative routes described. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Rosemary Lane (D3176) Thorpe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 15 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rosemary Lane (D3176) Thorpe as extends from its junction with the access to the “Frank Muir Memorial Field” Car Park north-westwards for a distance of approximately 45 metres. Alternative Route – Rosemary Lane; Green Road; Village Road; Western Avenue; Midway Avenue; The Bence; and Rosemary Lane. The Order is required to allow Section 50 foul connection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Dan Mac Surfacing within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 4 days between the hours of 9am and 4pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 04 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works there will be no vehicular access through the closure area, and all vehicular traffic including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Coombelands Lane (D3095) Addlestone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Coombelands Lane (D3095) Addlestone; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Coombelands Lane (D3095) Addlestone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” in its entirety. This Order is required to facilitate water connection works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Tuesley Lane (D169) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Tuesley Lane (D169) Godalming as extends from its junction with (X11165) Sycamore Avenue to the access point to the property known as “Tuesley Manor” and; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Tuesley Lane (D169) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023” in its entirety. Alternative Route: Tuesley Lane, Quartermile Road, Home Farm Road, Hambledon Road, Station Lane, and Tuesley Lane or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out a new mains water connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between 9am and 6pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Grove Heath Road (D238) and Grove Heath Lane (D238) Ripley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the following lengths of road:- (a) that length of Grove Heath Road (D238) Ripley as extends from its junction with (X238) Heath Rise to its junction with (D237) Gambles Lane and (D238) Grove Heath Lane; and (b) that length of Grove Heath Lane (D238) Ripley as extends from its junction with (D238) Grove Heath Road and (D237) Gambles Lane north-eastwards for a distance of 175 metres. Alternative Route – Portsmouth Road; High Street; Rose Lane; Hungry Hill Lane; and Gambles Lane or this same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow water utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Affinity Water within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 13 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other vehicular traffic including the emergency services should use the signed diversion route.
Lower Green Road (D6899) Esher
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lower Green Road (D6899) Esher which extends from its junction with Woodend (D6903) to southwards on Lower Green Road (D6899) for approximately 30m. Alternative Route – Lower Green Road (D6899), Station Road (B3379), Portsmouth Road (A307), High Street (D6896), Church Street (A244), Lammas Lane (A244), Esher Green (D6897), More lane (D6898) and Lower Green Lane (D6899).
Opposite direction: Lower Green Lane (D6899), More Lane (D6898), Esher Green (D6897), High Street (D6896), Portsmouth Road (A307), Station Road (B3379) and Lower Green Road (D6899).
The Order is required to allow Network Rail to carry out bridge works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 9:00pm and 5:00am, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained with in the closure.
Almners Road (D3005) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Almners Road (D3005) Chertsey which extends from its junction with the access road leading to Adas Farm to its junction with the access road leading to Merrywood Farm, and any parts thereof. This Order is required to enable Affinity Water to facilitate pipe re-laying works and/or water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times by road plates, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – Hardwick Lane, Holloway Hill, Longcross Road and Lyne Lane.
Felday Road (B2126) Abinger Hammer and Horsham Road (B2126) Holmbury St Mary
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Felday Road (B2126) Abinger Hammer and Horsham Road (B2126) Holmbury St Mary as extends from its junction with A25 Guildford Road and Felday Glade. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out surface dressing and pre-patching works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 4 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of roads, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – B2126 Horsham Road, B2126 Mile Hill, B2126 Holmbury Lane, B2126 Ockley Road, A29 Stane Street, A29 Beare Green Road, A29 Ockley Road, A24 Horsham Road, A24 Deepdene Avenue, A25 High Street, Dorking A25 Guildford Road, A25 Coast Hill and A25 Guildford Road.
D3152 Wendover Road, Egham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D3152 Wendover Road, Egham. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out highway resurfacing and/or maintenance and/or improvement works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within 2 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 December 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route: B3376 Thorpe Road, C125 Pooley Green Road, D3150 Mullens Road and D3151 Century Road. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Public Footpaths No. 61 (Send) and No.42 (Woking)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 14 November 2023 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath No. 61 (Send) and No. 42 (Woking), which extends in an northerly then easterly direction, from the southern end of the footbridge over which the footpaths cross the River Wey (Grid Ref: 501559 154550), then in an easterly direction for 50 metres which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/65/H27.
The Order is necessary because the path in question has been undermined by the River Wey resulting in the likelihood of danger to the public, and the footbridge is in an unsafe condition. It will be in operation from 14 November 2023 until 14 May 2023, or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route from the south-western end of the closure will be to Proceed direction along Footpath 42 (Woking). Continue along Footpath 42 (Woking) in a westerly direction to its junction with the Wey Navigation towpath. Turn right onto the towpath and proceed in a northerly direction to its junction with Footpath 43 (Woking). Continue along Footpath 43 (Woking) in a northerly direction to its junction with Footpath 55 (Send). Continue along Footpath 55 (Send) in a north easterly direction to its junction with Potters Lane. Turn right onto Potters Lane and proceed in a southerly direction to its junction with Footpath 60 (Send). Turn right onto Footpath 60 (Send) and proceed in a southerly direction to its junction with Church Lane. Turn right onto Church Lane and proceed in a westerly direction to its junction with Footpath 61 (Send). Turn right onto Footpath 61 (Send) and proceed in a north westerly direction to the north-eastern point of the closure. From the eastern end of the closure the alternative route will be the reverse of the one described above.
The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpaths No 61 (Send) and No 42 (Woking) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023’ was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
