What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (B2110 Hartfield Road, Forest Row)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which
will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hartfield Road – from the junction with P7040 Forest Road to
the junction with U7472 Parrock Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2110
Shepherds Hill, Cat Street – B2026 Jib Jacks Hill, Chuck Hatch
Road, High Road, Duddleswell Road, Lampool Road – A22
Horney Common Road, Millbrook Hill, Wych Cross, Lewes Road,
London Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 November 2023 and lasts for a
period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever
is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken
on 19 November 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2110 Withyham Road, Groombridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this
notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Withyham Road – from the junction with B2188 Hendall Hill to
the county border.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2110
Withyham Road – Castlefields – B2026 Edenbridge Road –
A264 Colestock Road – East Grinstead Road – Watch Oak Hill
– Ashurst Road (Kent) – Groombridge Hill (Kent) and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 December 2023 and lasts for a period
of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 and
6 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C539 Balaclava Lane, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow Land and Power Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex
County Council intend not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)
(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which
will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Balaclava Lane – from the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood
Road to the junction with C272 Osmers Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C272
Osmers Hill – U7889 Turners Green Lane – U7538 Turners
Green Road – B2100 Cousley Wood Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 December 2023 and lasts for a period
of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is
earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken
between 4 and 10 & 13 and 22 December 2023 depending
upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C408 Dewhurst Lane/Higham Lane,
Wadhurst/Frant) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2023
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this
notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Dewhurst Lane/Higham Lane – from the junction with B2099
Frant Road to the junction with B2169 Bayham Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2169
Bayham Road – C81 Bells Yew Green Road – The Green – A267
Mayfield Road – B2099 Wadhurst Road – Riverhall Hill – Frant
Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 December 2023 and lasts for a period
of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is
earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on
4 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.
