What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (B2112 Ditchling Road, Wivelsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Hailsham Roadways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ditchling Road – from The Ballantine to the junction with C6 Green Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2112 Ditchling Road – C6 Green Road – C6 South Road – C323 Honeypot Lane – C323 Mill Lane – A275 South Road – A275 Resting Oak Hill – A275 Cooksbridge Road – B2116 Ditchling Road – B2116 Lewes Road – B2112 High Street – B2112 North End – B2112 Common Lane – B2112 Ditchling Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 6 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs between 6 and 8 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.
