BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL
(MIDLAND METRO TRAM EXTENSION) (WESTSIDE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (T19200597) ORDER 2019
NOTICE is hereby given that Birmingham City Council has made an Order the effect of which will be:
To introduce a Reserved Bus Lane Monday to Saturday, 4pm-7pm along HARBORNE ROAD from a point approximately 47 metres north-east of Vicarage Road to a point approximately 191 metres north-east of Greenfield Crescent. This is additional to the experimental bus lane along this length which is currently operational Monday to Saturday 7am-10am
To introduce a Reserved Bus Lane Monday to Saturday, 4pm-7pm on CALTHORPE ROAD from a point approximately 4 metres north east of Greenfield Crescent to a point approximately 160 metres south west of Greenfield Crescent
To introduce a Reserved Bus Lane at all times on BATH ROW from a point approximately 22 metres east of Bishopgate Street to its junction with Granville Street
To introduce a Reserved (Off-side) Bus Lane at all times on WHEELEYS LANE from its junction with Longleat Avenue in a generally southerly direction for a distance of approximately 85 metres
To introduce a Prohibition of Waiting, Monday to Saturday, 7am-7pm and a Prohibition of Loading Monday to Saturday, 4pm-7pm along lengths of CALTHORPE ROAD (south-east side) between its junction with St James Road and Highfield Road
To introduce a Prohibition of Waiting and Prohibition of Loading Monday to Saturday, 4pm-7pm along lengths of CALTHORPE ROAD (north west side) between its junction with Harborne Road and Highfield Road. The existing Limited Waiting bays operational Monday to Saturday 7.30am-4pm will remain in place
To suspend Parking With Payment bays along lengths of BATH ROW, BISHOPGATE STREET, TENNANT STREET and RYLAND STREET To introduce a Total Prohibition of Waiting and Loading along lengths of TENNANT STREET, BISHOPSGATE STREET, BATH ROW, BROAD STREET SHEEPCOTE STREET, GROSVENOR STREET WEST and RYLAND STREET
To introduce a Prohibition of Loading Monday to Saturday, 7am-10am and 4pm-7pm along lengths of BROAD STREET
To introduce a Prohibition of Loading 8am-7.30pm along lengths of TENNANT STREET and BISHOPSGATE STREET
To introduce a Loading Bay 6am to 9pm along a length of BROAD STREET in the vicinity of St Martins Street
The temporary Order is required to facilitate construction of the Midland Metro.
These prohibitions shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The Order came into operation on 24th May 2019 and was in force for a period of EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
The Order was extended for of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and would have expired on the 24th May 2021.
The Order was again extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and would have expired on the 24th November 2021.
The Order was again extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and will expire on the 24th May 2022.
The Order was again extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and will expire on the 24th November 2022.
The Order was again extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and will expire on the 24th May 2023.
The Order was again extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and will expire on the 24th November 2023.
The Order has now been extended for a further period of SIX MONTHS with the approval of the Secretary of State and will expire on the 24th May 2024.
