Osborne Road - Temporary Traffic Prohibition
What is happening?

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)
Osborne Road (Prohibition of Vehicles) Order 2023 (“the Order”)
1. 1. Sheffield City Council gives notice that it proposes to make the Order under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling powers over the areas of the highway described paragraph 4 to the Order.
2. The Order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
3. The Order came into operation on 9 November 2023 and shall remain in force for a period of 18 months. The duration of the Order can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The restriction specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of notices.
4. While the Order is in operation: The Sheffield City Council (Consolidation) (On-Street Parking and Prohibition of Waiting) (Outer Area) Order 2008 (as amended) shall have effect as though:-
a) In Schedule 1.01C thereto for the item ‘704 Osborne Road the north side (ii)’ and the south side (ii)’ there was substituted the following item:-
704. Osborne Road
The north side:-
(ii) From a point 58 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line of Union Road to a point 40 metres east of
Its junction with the eastern kerb line of Union Road.
The south side:-
(ii) From a point 40 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line of Union Road to a point 32 metres east of
Its junction with the eastern kerb line of Union Road.
b) In Schedule 1.01C thereto there was included the following item:-
103. Archer Lane
Both sides:-
(i) From a point 10 metres south west of the southern western kerb line of Edgefield Road to a point 7 metres north east of the north eastern kerb line of Edgefield Road.
The north east termination:
The whole.
5. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
