THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY
THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
THE LEICESTER (NICHOLS STREET) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Nichols Street between its junction with Midland Street and a point 15 metres south thereof from 7.00am on Thursday 23rd November 2023 until 3.00pm on Sunday 17th December 2023.
Suspend existing one-way restriction on Nichols Street between its junction with Southampton Street and a point 35 metres north thereof from 7.00am on Thursday 23rd November 2023 until 3.00pm on Sunday 17th December 2023.
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Midland Street between its junction with Nichols Street and a point 10 metres west thereof from 7.00am on Thursday 23rd November 2023 until 3.00pm on Sunday 17th December 2023.
Diversion route: Morledge Street, Southampton Street.
Suspend existing one-way restriction on Midland Street between its junction with Morledge Street and a point 105 metres east thereof from 7.00am on Thursday 23rd November 2023 until 3.00pm on Sunday 17th December 2023.
The Order will come into effect on the 23rd November 2023 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.
This order is made to facilitate highway improvement works taking place and to prevent the likeliness of danger to the public. 
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
