What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SCHOOL LANE & SURROUNDING AREAS, NEWTON WITH CLIFTON, FYLDE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in Newton with Clifton in the Borough of Fylde:
i. School Lane from its junction with Blackpool Road for its full length.
ii. Hornby Drive from its junction with School Lane for its full length.
iii. Marsh View from its junction with Hornby Drive for its full length.
iv. Yew Tree Close from its junction with Hornby Drive for its full length.
v. Beech Drive from its junction with Bryning Lane to its junction with Hornby Drive.
vi. Lowfield Close from its junction with Beech Drive for its full length.
vii. Hawthorne Avenue from its junction with Beech Drive for its full length.
viii. Scale Hall Lane from its junction with School Lane for its full length.
ix. Hill Crescent from its junction with School Lane to its junction with Scale Hall Lane.
x. Birch Avenue from its junction with Hill Crescent for its full length.
xi. Maple Close from its junction with Hill Crescent for its full length.
xii. Cedar Close from its junction with Hill Crescent for its full length.
xiii. Alder Close from its junction with Hill Crescent for its full length.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0915 hours until 1500 hours on Monday 20th November 2023 until Friday 1st December 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. The prohibition will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out by LCC Highways.
