Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
HATCH LANE, CHARTHAM HATCH. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hatch Lane, Chartham, from 23.45 hours on 6th December 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 7th December 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic:-
For vehicles under 3.6m (12’ 0”) is via Hatch Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Howfield Lane, Town Lane and vice versa.
The alternative route for vehicles over 3.6m (12’ 0”) is:-
Northbound - Hatch Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Thanington Road, Wincheap, A290 Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, A2050 Rheims Way, Harbledown Bypass, A2 Dover Road, Denstead Lane, Gravel Hill, Town Lane and Hatch Lane.
Southbound - Hatch Lane, Town Lane, Gravel Hill, Denstead Lane, A2 Boughton Bypass, Dunkirk Slip Westbound Off, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Dover Road, Harbledown Slip Eastbound Off, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, A290 Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap, Thanington Road, Ashford Road, Hatch Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
IFFIN LANE, THANINGTON WITHOUT. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance and installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Iffin Lane, Thanington Without, on or after 20th November 2023, for up to 3 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Iffin Lane, Chartham Downs Road, New House Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
KINGSDOWN PARK, WHITSTABLE. CT5 2EY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kingsdown Park, Whitstable, on or after 20th November 2023, for up to 5 days, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Martlets, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Kingsdown Park, Northwood Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
LIME KILN ROAD, CANTERBURY, CT1 3QG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lime Kiln Road, Canterbury, on or after 22nd November 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Lime Kiln Road, Gordon Road, Martyrs’ Field Road, Guildford Road, Oxford Road and vice versa.
MILL LANE, HERNE BAY. CT6 7EW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Herne, from 19.00 hours on 22nd November 2023, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 23rd November 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of Mill Lane leading to A299 Thanet Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The restrictions on Mill Lane will be in conjunction with a lane closure on A299 Thanet Way.
The alternative route for any through traffic:-
Southbound is via A299 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road, Herne Street, School Lane and Mill Lane.
Northbound is via Mill Lane, Hunters Forstal Road, Margate Road and A299 Thanet Way.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
MOLEHILL ROAD, CHESTFIELD, CT5 3PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Molehill Road, Chestfield, on or after 20th November 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the Telecoms mast, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Molehill Road, Chestfield Road, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Road, Thornden Wood Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
PETT BOTTOM ROAD, BRIDGE. CT4 5PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pett Bottom Road, Bridge, from 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 6th December 2023, between the hours of 09.00 and 23.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sunnyside Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tapleys Hill, Hardres Court Road, Faussett Hill, Bridge Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SHALLOAK ROAD, BROAD OAK, CT2 0PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shalloak Road, Broad Oak, from 23.00 hours on 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 5th December 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Shalloak Road, Sweetchgate, A291 Herne Bay Road, A291 Sturry Hill, A28 Mill Road, A28 Sturry Road, Vauxhall Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SNOWDOWN ROAD, WOMENSWOLD, CT4 6HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Snowdown Road, Womenswold, on or after 4th December 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Snaffles, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Snowdown Road, Sandwich Road, Aylesham Road, Spinney Lane, Adisham Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
STATION ROAD, CHARTHAM. CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow deep dig works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Chartham, from 01.00 hours on 26th November 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 27th November 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Station Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Street, Bolts Hill, Parish Road, The Green and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
TOWN ROAD, PETHAM. CT4 5QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Town Road, Petham, on or after 7th December 2023, with estimated completion by 9th December 2023, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Vicarage Hill to the junction of Watery Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Vicarage Hill, Garlinge Green Road, Kenfield Road, Chartham Downs Road, Faussett Hill, Stone Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
WALTHAM ROAD & BROADWAY, PETHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Waltham Road & Broadway, Petham, on or after 4th December 2023, with estimated completion by 6th December 2023, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed in their entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via The Street, Town Road, Stone Street, Thorn Lane, Dean Hill, Dean Bottom, Main Street, The Street (Hastingleigh), Waltham Road, Ashenfield Road, Woods Hill, Richdore Road, Kake Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
