Earsdon Road - Temporary Road Restriction For Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

EARSDON ROAD, SHIREMOOR
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2014

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic on Earsdon Road from the junction with Wellfield to a point approx 150m East of Coanwood Drive.

An alternate route is available via Earsdon Road, Monkseaton Drive, Cauldwell Lane, Seatonville Road, Shields Road, Rake Lane, New York Road, Billy Mill Lane – B1316, New York Way, Silver Fox Way, Benton Road, Whitley Road, A19 Trunk Road, Rotary Road, Station Road, North Tyneside Boundary To Earsdon Road Roundabout.

Access to South Wellfield still available from Earsdon Road eastbound.

The proposed temporary Order is required to allow road resurfacing.

The Order will come into force on 27th November 2023 for a period not exceeding 4 days. Works to be done during overnight hours only.
