ORDER FOR THE PREVENTION OF OBSTRUCTION IN STREETS BACK TO OURS CHRISTMAS PARADE 2023 – Various Streets
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 7th November 2023, the Kingston upon Hull City Council made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 for the purpose of preventing obstructions in the lengths of streets in the City of Kingston upon Hull hereinafter mentioned on the occasion of a Christmas Parade, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th December 2023.
The Order:- (a) prohibits any person (except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform) from driving, riding or propelling any vehicle or causing or permitting any vehicle to wait in or on the following streets, Kingston upon Hull, between 7pm to 9pm on the specified dates: 4th December 2023:
Preston Road westbound from number 185 Preston Road to its junction with Exeter Grove; Exeter Grove between its junctions with Preston Road and Downing Grove; Downing Grove between its junctions with Exeter Grove and Pembroke Grove; Pembroke Grove between its junctions with Downing Grove and Cambridge Grove; Cambridge Grove between its junctions with Pembroke Grove and Bilsdale Grove; Bilsdale Grove between its junctions with Cambridge Grove and Southcoates Lane; Southcoates Lane between its junctions with Bilsdale Grove and Wharfedale Avenue; Wharfedale Avenue along its full length; Swaledale Avenue between its junctions with Wharfedale Avenue and Rosedale Avenue; Rosedale Avenue between its junctions with Swaledale Avenue and Rustenburg Street; Rustenburg Street along its full length; New Bridge Road between its junctions with Rustenburg Street and Steynburg Street; Steynburg Street along its full length; Farndale Avenue along its full length; Eskdale Avenue along its full length; Southcoates Lane between its junctions with Eskdale Avenue and St. John’s Grove; St. John’s Grove between its junctions with Southcoates Lane and Exeter Grove; Exeter Grove between its junctions with St. John’s Grove and Preston Road; Preston Road from its junction with Exeter Grove to adjacent with number 185 Preston Road.
5th December 2023:
Preston Road (northern section) between the entrance with Eastern Cemetery and its junction with Annandale Road; Annandale Road between its junctions with Preston Road and Stocksbridge Avenue; Stocksbridge Avenue along its full length; Stalybridge Avenue between its junctions with Stocksbridge Avenue and Uxbridge Grove; Uxbridge Grove along its full length; Stonebridge Avenue between its junctions with Uxbridge Grove and Bainbridge Avenue; Bainbridge Avenue along its full length; Annandale Road between its junctions with Bainbridge Avenue and Wingfield Road; Wingfield Road between its junctions with Annandale Road and Swanfield Road; Swanfield Road between its junctions with Wingfield Road and Hopewell Road; Hopewell Road between its junctions with Swanfield Road and Grange Road; Grange Road along its full length; Annandale Road along its full length; Preston Road (southern section) between its junctions with Annandale Road and Poorhouse Lane; Poorhouse Lane terminating at the car park on Poorhouse Lane.
6th December 2023:
Ellerburn Avenue from adjacent with number 180 to its junction with Orchard Park Road; Orchard Park Road between its junctions with Ellerburn Avenue and York Road; York Road between its junctions with Orchard Park Road and 32nd Avenue; 32nd Avenue along its full length between its junctions with York Road and Greenwood Avenue; Greenwood Avenue between its junctions with 32nd Avenue and 31st Avenue; 31st Avenue between its junctions with Greenwood Avenue and 5th Avenue; 5th Avenue between its junctions with 31st Avenue and 19th Avenue; 19th Avenue between its junctions with 5th Avenue and 21st Avenue; 21st Avenue between its junctions with 19th Avenue and 7th Avenue; 7th Avenue between its junctions with 21st Avenue and 5th Avenue; 5th Avenue westbound between its junctions with 7th Avenue and its first junction with Greenwood Avenue; Greenwood Avenue northbound between its junction with 5th Avenue, including the intersection at the eastern end of Ada Holmes Circle, continuing north to its first junction with 6th Avenue; 6th Avenue between its junctions with Greenwood Avenue and 8th Avenue; 8th Avenue between its junctions with 6th Avenue and 14th Avenue; 14th Avenue between its junctions with 8th Avenue and 10th Avenue; 10th Avenue between its junctions with 14th Avenue and 16th Avenue; 16th Avenue between its junctions with 10th Avenue and 8th Avenue; 8th Avenue between its junctions with 16th Avenue and Orchard Park Road; Orchard Park Road between its junctions with 8th Avenue and Ellerburn Avenue; Ellerburn Avenue from its junction with Orchard Park Road to adjacent with number 180 Ellerburn Avenue.
7th December 2023:
Priory Road between its junctions with Flaxton Road and Hotham Road South; Hotham Road South between its junctions with Priory Road and Wold Road; Wold Road between its junctions with Hotham Road South and Moorhouse Road; Moorhouse Road south-easterly between its junctions with Wold Road and Wymersley Road; Wymersley Road between its junctions with Moorhouse Road and Wold Road; Wold Road between its junctions with Wymersley Road and Danube Road; Danube Road along its full length; Worcester Road between its junctions with Danube Road and Coventry Road; Coventry Road along its full length; Hotham Road South between its junctions with Coventry Road and Priory Road; Priory Road between its junctions with Hotham Road South and Flaxton Road.
(b) requires any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said lengths of streets during the said hours on the said days to obey the directions of the said police constable and of any other police constable in uniform, and
(c) requires all persons present in the said lengths of streets during the said hours on the said days to comply with the directions of any police constable in uniform.
The purpose of these closures is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during Christmas Parade. The Order does not apply to fire brigade vehicles, ambulance and police vehicles. The penalty for an infringement of the Order is a fine upon conviction not exceeding Four hundred pounds. A copy of the said Order is available for inspection during normal office hours at the Reception Office at the Guildhall, Kingston upon Hull.
