What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Mill Lane, Plasworth) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 663 metre length of Mill Lane that extends between Watermill Cottage and Mill Cottage, Plawsworth to enable telecom pole testing works to be undertaken: There is an alternative route available to vehicular traffic from the western side of the closure from A167 north over the Red Lion Roundabout then east along Wheatleywell Lane and south on Holmhill Lane to the junction of Mill Lane to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works required from 11.00 pm on Wednesday 29 November 2023 for 7 hours (weather permitting). On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
