What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL
(CLIFTON EAST AREA, CENTRAL, CLIFTON, CLIFTON DOWN AND STOKE BISHOP WARDS, CITY OF BRISTOL) (RESIDENTS’ PARKING AREA) (ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND STOPPING) ORDER 202-
The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make a traffic order, the effect of which would be:-
1. to introduce a disabled persons’ parking place in Alma Vale Road in place of an existing length of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday shared use permit parking and/or pay and display (max stay 3 hours) parking;
2. to revise Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm permit parking in Downfield Road, Hurle Crescent and Melrose Place;
3. to revise prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in Hurle Crescent, St. Paul’s Road and Wellington Park; and
4. to address anomalies between the provisions of the traffic order and on-site road markings/signs relating to parking place and prohibition of waiting provisions in Alexandra Road, All Saints Road, Alma Road, Beaufort Road, Chantry Road, Downfield Road, Duchess Road, Hanbury Road, Hurle Crescent, Hurle Road, Leigh Road, Oakfield Grove, Oakfield Road, Osborne Road, Pembroke Road, St. John’s Road, St. Paul’s Road, Thorndale, Upper Belgrave Road, Wellington Park and Whatley Road, which would be formally brought into the new order.

Further details of all the proposals are contained in the draft order, which together with plans, a copy of the order to be revoked and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the order may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The draft order, plans and Statement of Reasons are also available to view on the City Council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders.
How to object
Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting reference CAE/RGW/P-1281 by 1st December 2023. Please include your name and address and note that all representations received may be considered in public by the City Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
