Burton Lane - Road Closure to Enable Cadent to Carry Out Gas Mains Replacement Works

What is happening?

THE
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
COUNTY COUNCIL
(BURTON LANE,
CHURCH STREET
AND MAIN STREET,
WHATTON)
(TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF
DRIVING) ORDER
2023 (R23-185)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Nottinghamshire
County Council intends not
less than seven days from the
date of this Notice to make an
Order, under Section 14(1) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, as amended, in respect
of roads at Whatton in the
Borough of Rushcliffe.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited
from proceeding in the
following length of road:
a. Burton Lane- for its full
length of road.
b. Church Street - for its full
length of road.
c. Main Street - from its
junction with Whipling Close to
its junction with Old Grantham
Road.
2. All existing permanent
restrictions will be temporarily
suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified
above shall only be in effect
when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the
prohibitions respecting the
above road or roads will apply
as follows:
Main Street - from 08:00 hours
on Monday 20th November
2023 Until 17:00 hours on
Monday 18th December 2023
Burton lane - from 08:00 hours
on Thursday 30 th November
2023 Until 17:00 hours on
Thursday 21st December 2023
Church Street - from
08:00 hours on Monday
4th December 2023 Until
17:00 hours on Friday 22nd
December 2023
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY
FURTHER GIVEN that during
the period of restriction the
alternative route available
will be:
Burton Lane - B4532 Main
Church Street - Sunbeam
Street and vice versa.
Church Street - Burton
Lane - B4532 Main Church
Street - Sunbeam Street and
vice versa.
The Order will come into force
on 20th November 2023 and
any prohibition in it shall apply
on that day and any subsequent
day when necessary to enable
works to be carried out. The
Order shall continue in force
until the works are completed
(within a maximum period of 18
months).
The prohibition is required to
enable Cadent to carry out gas
mains replacement works;
