Eashing Lane (D94) Milford/Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 8 November 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Eashing Lane (D94) Milford/Godalming which extends from its junction with A283 Guildford Road to its junction with the western arm of Aarons Hill. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate road marking installation works, vegetation works and/or maintenance/highway works. These works are anticipated to be completed within 1 week, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Due to the nature of works, the footway will also be closed to traffic however access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained when safe to do so. No sole means of pedestrian access to any premises will be affected. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency vehicle access, within the length of road above or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/ or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. Alternative Route – Eashing Lane, A3100 Portsmouth Road, A283 Guildford Road and Eashing Lane.
