What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A26 TONBRIDGE ROAD, MAIDSTONE ME16 8SL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow remedial repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A26 Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, on or after 18th November 2023 for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Bower Street and Hambledon Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A26 Tonbridge Road, Terrace Road, A20 London Road and Queens Road.

CHART ROAD, CHART SUTTON ME17 3RF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chart Road, Chart Sutton, on or after 16th November 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general vicinity of Keays Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Chart Road, Church Road, Warmlake Road, Chart Hill Road and vice versa.

COX STREET, DETLING, ME14 3HE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow pole installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cox Street, Detling, on or after 1st December 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with White Hill Road for 1420 metres south, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Cox Street, White Hill Road, Scragged Oak Road, Court Lane and vice versa.

GALLANTS LANE, EAST FARLEIGH, ME15 0LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gallants Lane, East Farleigh, on or after 29th November 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general of number 7 Green Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Gallants Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road and vice versa.

HAMPSTEAD LANE, YALDING. ME18 6AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hampstead Lane, Yalding, on or after 4th December 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside numbers 3 and 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road, A228 Hale Street By-pass, A228 Branbridges Road, Beltring Road, Gravelly Ways, Lees Road, and vice versa.

HIGH STREET, MAIDSTONE, ME15 6XH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Maidstone, on or after 30th November 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 36 to outside number 40, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, King Street, High Street and vice versa.

HIGH STREET & VICARAGE ROAD, YALDING (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2023

To allow the Yalding Yuletide market to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2010 High Street and Vicarage Road, Yalding, on or after 2nd December 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 15:00 and 21:00, or until the works have been completed.

B2010 High Street, Yalding will be closed between the Post Office and The War Memorial, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Kenward Road, Bow Hill, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane/Benover Road and vice versa.

Vicarage Road will be closed between The War Memorial and the entrance to the Village Club, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2162 Benover Road and Mill Lane and vice versa.

SHEEPHURST LANE, MARDEN, TN12 9NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow customer connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sheephurst Lane, Marden, on or after 27th November 2023 for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general vicinity of Blackmoor Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sheephurst Lane, B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 Winchet Hill, B2079 Summerhill, Ballards Hill, Goudhurst Road, B2162 Maidstone Road, Sheephurst Lane and vice versa.

SOUTH GREEN, SITTINGBOURNE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow pole renewal and tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of South Green, Sittingbourne, on or after 28th November 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A249 Sittingbourne to outside the Water treatment works, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via South Green Lane, Rumstead Road, Rumstead Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road and Chalky Road.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, Rumstead Lane, Rumstead Road and South Green Lane.

STOCKETT LANE, TOVIL ME15 6FU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stockett Lane, Tovil, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Cave Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Cave Hill, Hayle Mill Road, Bockingford Lane, Stockett Lane and vice versa.

THE STREET, DETLING ME14 3JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Detling, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general vicinity of number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Street, Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, Hockers Lane and vice versa.
