What is happening?

BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ("the Council") has on 1st November 2023 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into operation on 6th November 2023 will introduce various changes as detailed below:

BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018

AMENDMENT ORDER NO.21 2023 (REF: TRO-38A-2023)

Introduce bike hangars for secure pedal cycle parking provision and amend existing waiting and parking restrictions to allow for the installation of the hangars in the following locations:

- Zone A - Compton Road (2 hangar locations)

- Zone C - Atlingworth Street, Freshfield Street, Livingstone Street, Queen's Park Terrace, & Sutherland Road (2 hangars together)

- Zone F - Balfour Road (2 hangar locations) & Osborne Road (2 Hangar locations)

- Zone H - College Road & Sudeley Street

- Zone J - Mayo Road, Preston Drove, Prince's Road, Richmond Road, St Andrew's Road

- Zone K - Home Road & Lauriston Road (2 hangar locations)

- Zone M - Brunswick Road, Palmeira Square (2 hangar locations) & Waterloo Street

- Zone N - Brooker Street (2 hangar locations), Livingstone Road & The Drive

- Zone O - Cissbury Road, Furze Hill (2 hangar ocations), Lorna Road, Silverdale Road & Wilbury Crescent

- Zone R - Sheridan Terrace

- Zone S - Bonchurch Road & Queens Park Road ( 2 hangar locations)

- Zone U - Ewhurst Road & Kimberley Road

- Zone V - Lincoln Street & Southover Street (2 hangar locations)

- Zone Y - Compton Avenue (2 hangars together), Kingsbury Road & Windlesham Gardens

- Zone Z - Bedford Square (2 hangars together) & Sillwood Road (2 hangar locations)

Modification

A change to the order as originally proposed and advertised on 8th September is as follows:-

The proposed installation of the following bike hangars are not going ahead on this order:

- Zone H - College Road (outside No.18) - Being withdrawn

- Zone J - Chester Terrace - Going to Transport & Sustainability Committee

- Warleigh Road (2 hangar locations) - On hold

- Zone R - Shakespeare Street - Going to Transport & Sustainability Committee

- Zone S - Carisbrooke Road (2 hangar locations) - Going to Transport & Sustainability Committee

- Zone U - Ladysmith Road - Going to Transport & Sustainability Committee

- Zone V - Coleman Street (2 hangar locations) & Islingword Place - Going to Transport & Sustainability Committee

- Zone Z - Norfolk Place - On hold

BRIGHTON & HOVE OUTER AREAS (WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING) AND CYCLE LANES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018

AMENDMENT ORDER NO.9 2023 (REF: TRO-38B-2023)

Introduce bike hangars for secure pedal cycle parking provision in the following locations:

- Hollingdean Street (2 hangars together)

A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders was made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
