What is happening?

BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ("the Council") has on 1 November 2023 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and Traffic Management Act 2004 which when it comes into operation on 6 November 2023 will introduce the following:

BRIGHTON & HOVE (PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) (GARDNER STREET) ORDER 2023 (TRO-35A-2023)

- Revokes the Prohibition of Driving Monday to Sunday 11am to 5pm on Gardner Street and introduces a Prohibition of Vehicles Friday to Sunday (and bank holidays) 11am to 7pm

BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.18 2023 (TRO-35B-2023)

- Gardner Street - New disabled bay Monday to Thursday 3 hours maximum stay no return within 1 hour and makes the loading bay restricted to loading only Monday to Thursday at any time 30 minutes maximum stay no return within 1 hour.

Modifications

Some changes to the order as originally proposed and advertised on 11 August 2023 are as follows:

BRIGHTON & HOVE (PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) (GARDNER STREET) ORDER 202* (TRO-35A-2023)

The Prohibition of Vehicles Friday to Sunday (and bank holidays) will now be between the hours of 11am to 7pm rather than the advertised 11am to 9pm.

A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the either or both Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose
