Collingwood Street, Temporary Road Closure Due To Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (C129 Collingwood Street, Coundon) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 304 metre length of C129 Collingwood Street, Coundon from the front of no.38 Collingwood Street at western side of closure in an easterly direction to the front of The Three Tuns Public House to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken.
Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from east side of closure in an easterly direction on C129 Collingwood Street, then north on Leeholme Road, then west on B6287, then southeast on C129 Collingwood Street to western end of closure and vice versa, access for residents only also available to the north side of the closure via Victoria Lane and the south side of the closure via Hillside Road.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence daily between 9am to 3pm from 21/11/23 and are anticipated to be completed in 4 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
