(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily
introduce:
• A road closure in that length of High Street, Twerton, Bath from its junction with the A36 Lower Bristol
Road extending south west for approximately 25 metres to Twerton Station Approach, Bath.
USRN: 47900706.
• Temporarily suspend the one-way restriction from the junction with Shophouse Road extending to the
junction with Twerton Station Approach, Bath, allowing traffic to travel in both directions. This will enable
local residents to be able to access/egress premises and the parking area.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable
Network Rail to carry out railway bridge maintenance and repairs on the 18th November 2023 for a maximum
period of 11 nights. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be
effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is
anticipated to be for NINE NIGHTS between 22:00 - 06:00hrs each night. No work on Sunday nights.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable
Bristol Water to carry out fire hydrant frame and cover replacement on the 8th November 2023 for a maximum
period of 4 days. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be
effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is
anticipated to be for TWO DAYS.

• Brooklyn Road, Larkhall, Bath from its junction with St Saviour’s Road extending south west to its

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable
Openreach safe access to the overhead network for replacement pole works on the 6th November 2023 for
a maximum period of 2 days. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and
